Togetherness starts with a tee

Jelka Priem is a teacher for groups 6, 7 and 8 at a primary school in Maassluis. She has taught for ten years and with Face This she wants use her passion for education to offer kids in developing countries a better future. ‘As teacher at a Montessori primary school in Barendrecht, I consider it very important that kids can also develop in a creative way. On Friday, the whole class dances the weekend in. The kids put on music from YouTube and we all swing along. The kids enjoy dancing together. It’s great to see such pleasure. In Indonesia, things are completely different. They dance there as well, but without music. Because they don’t have any electricity or musical instruments at the Duduk Atas or SDK Pusu primary school. And certainly no Internet connection. It would be great if one day they could dance with music.’
