Agathe Marty design story

French artist Agathe Marty designed a T-shirt, tote bag, and sweater in collaboration with Indonesian school kids. Read all about her!

For this month’s drop, artist Agathe Marty collabed with Novi, a 9-year-old pupil from the SDN 4 Batu Putih school in Gili Asahan. One of the things Novi loves most is her family. It’s no wonder then, that she drew herself on a walk with her family. All proceeds from the merch sales will go towards helping Novi's school.

Agathe Marty

Meet Agathe Marty, a French artist who loves the sun, illustrating, and travelling the world. Though her background is in communication and public relations, she’s always had a passion for drawing. After living in Australia for 4.5 years, Agathe went back home to France and tapped into her creative energy. The success of her illustrations took her by surprise, but it showed her that she could make her passion into her career. Fast forward to nowadays, she has some incredible brand collabs under her belt, including Dr. Haushka, Bombay Sapphire, CASETiFY, and Nespresso. One of her favourite places to travel to is Bali, Indonesia and she was just as excited as us about a Face This collab.

  • Why Agathe Marty wanted to design a Face This T-shirt

“Bali has a unique and indescribable energy that deeply inspires me, both personally and professionally. Given this connection, it was clear that I would accept this project with Face This. It makes a lot of sense to me and I’m very glad that I could help Indonesian children in my own way.”

  • Agathe Marty on Indonesian kids’ drawings

“Kids’ art is free from rules, full of imagination, and driven by pure creativity. They express themselves without fear of judgment, offering fresh perspectives and new ways to see things.”

  • How Agathe Marty designed her Face This T-shirt

“I knew I wanted to preserve Novi’s original drawing and build on it. I thought that adding a scenic background would enhance it. Since beaches and palm trees are elements that represent my work, I envisioned a beach setting where Novi and her family could take walks together.”

How Stina Persson and other artists collab with Indonesian school kids

At Face This, artists creatively collab with Indonesian school kids on T-shirts, totes and sweaters. And as the proceeds benefit their school, the kids literally design their own future.
