Boogie design story
For this month’s drop, artist André Morgner, aka Boogie, collabed with Adel: a 7 year-old pupil from the SDN 4 Batu Putih school in Gili Asahan. Adel loves playing outdoors and spending time with her friends. She decided to draw a fun day out on the beach. All proceeds will go towards helping Adel’s school.

André Morgner is a graffiti artist from Germany, better known by his stage name Boogie. Ever since discovering his passion for graffiti, he has been leaving his mark all over the world. The mission behind his art is “to spread positivity, to spread love, to connect with people”. His action-packed schedule includes collabs with BMW and Formula 1. Luckily, we were able to steal him away for a collab on a Face This merch drop as well.

Why André Morgner wanted to design a Face This T-shirt
“I sometimes do workshops with kids where I teach them how to do graffiti. I've been to Indonesia two times now and the people were super friendly to me. So, when I got that message from you, I said okay, let's do it for sure.”
-
André Morgner about the Indonesian kids’ drawings
“I wanted to use my skills to do something good and take them away from this little grey world. That's why I was pretty happy.”

How André Morgner designed his Face This T-shirt
“I thought, okay, let's try to combine styles and use the topic of home sweet home for that. I tried to do it in typical Boogie style, but I also used the original drawing from [Adel], with the kid on the bicycle and the kids in the water.”

How Boogie and other artists collab with Indonesian school kids
At Face This, artists creatively collab with Indonesian school kids on T-shirts, totes and sweaters. And as the proceeds benefit their school, the kids literally design their own future.
