This wearable art collaboration connects British illustrator Owen Davey with a group of students from Duduk Atas Elementary School in Senggigi, Lombok. Their drawings — lively, imaginative, and full of unexpected details — reminded Owen of why he started drawing in the first place. Known for his precise yet playful illustrations, Owen reinterpreted the children’s shapes and characters into a bold design that celebrates curiosity and creativity. Together they created wearable art that bridges two worlds — showing that inspiration can travel both ways, from the classroom to the studio and back again.
From Mythological Monsters to Curious about Crocodiles… Artist Owen Davey has won several awards for his brilliant picture books. He also works as an artist/illustrator for brands like Google, WWF, Facebook, Sony, Lego and National Geographic. And right now, Face This has been added to this list as well!

Why Owen Davey wanted to design a Face This T-shirt
´I love the idea of the kids being the spark that helps fund stuff for themselves; that their ideas and needs are both being acknowledged and valued.´

Owen Davey about the Indonesian kids' drawings
´They’re just really fun. I have two young kids and love watching how they stylise stuff. That thing of just filling a page with a bunch of stuff that you find fun, and not worrying too much about the lines or the shapes; just creating. It’s pretty inspiring. I felt like I was getting a glimpse into their minds.´

How Owen Davey designed his Face This T-shirt
´Honestly, I took stuff from loads of different artworks. I tried to find little drawings that seemed the most closely related to the work I tend to create, and smashed them all into one drawing.´
