For our most recent school project, we went back to Lombok. The island where it all started for us, more then 10 years ago. After the earthquake of 2018 we felt the urge to come back and help another school. This is SDN 1 Senggigi. Watch below video to get a vibe of the school:
SDN1 Senggigi
Senggigi will always have a special place in our hearts, as it was the place where the Face This initiative first came to live. Therefore we felt heartbroken when in 2018, the village got hit by a huge earthquake. So starting out a new project on Lombok was a no-brainer for us.
What is needed?
In August 2018 a deadly earthquake killed hundreds of people and destroyed a myriad of houses and buildings. Including the SDN 1 Senggigi school, which is still not renovated. That’s why the 254 pupils of this school still get their classes in tents outside of the school building. And because of that, getting over the traumatic experience an earthquake causes, it’s hard for the kids to move on with their lives.
Our goal
Our goal is to renovate the school building of the SDN1 Senggigi. At this point we need around 15,000 euro to finance this. Want to support the school? Get yourself a T-shirt as the proceeds will help us reach that goal.
